Ahmad Humeid
Co-Founder, CEO and Design Director

Ahmad started his first design studio in 1991 while still studying architecture at the University of Jordan. Over the last 13 years he was involved in various pioneering publishing, design and technology ventures in the Middle East, gaining professional experience in design, branding, user experience, information technology and internet consulting.

Before founding SYNTAX in 1998, he was Creative Director at a number of magazines including BYTE Middle East and Popular Science Middle East, where he lead the branding, design and production efforts. He was also a founding member of Arabia On Line, the pioneering Arab internet portal.

Being involved in projects at the intersection of design, publishing and technology, Mr Humeid has a special interest in typography, type design and information architecture.

Mr Humeid has spoken at a number of regional and international conferences on the subject of design, architecture, media and the internet. He is also a regular contributing writer in the regional press on issues of design and technology.

Salua Qidan
Co-Founder, Design Director

Salua, an architect by training, has led web design, print design and editorial design efforts at SYNTAX Digital since its foundation.

Salua has focused a lot of her energies on establishing SYNTAX as a partner for non-governmental and development organizations, who represent one of the company's significant client segments. Salua oversees SYNTAX's "Dot.org" practice, serving client like UNICEF, UNIFEM, GTZ, the German Government, the European Union, the Red Cross, among others.

Focusing on editorial and exhibition design, Salua handles SYNTAX's content intensive projects and sets the design, layout and typographic standards for the company's work.

Before founding SYNTAX, as Art Director at Arabian Media Concepts, she worked on a number of ground breaking internet projects in the Middle East, including early work on Arabia On Line, the region's first internet portal.

Yazan Doughan,
Senior Designer.

An architect by education and a practicing information architect and designer, Yazan joined Syntax in 1999 and is specialized in web application design and user experience. His work experience includes analysis, definition, information architecture, interface design and technical implementation supervision of several web applications, with an approach that combines both user-centric and technology-centric methodologies.

Hassan is a an experienced content, localization, publishing and technology expert. His track record includes 4 years at BYTE Middle East and Popular Science Middle East where he acted as Managing Editor (both magazines where Arabic editions of major Global publications).

Before joining SYNTAX he was responsible for Research and Development and New Product Development at Arabia.com. His responsibilities included maintaining and developing a number of Arabia.com key channels.

Prior to that, Hassan worked as project manager at a number of software companies, where he specialized in the field of software localization.
