SYNTAX Design+Interactive designs "infowalls" and slideshow for Darat al Funun's 10th anniversary celebrations

Darat al Funun is a Home for the Arts and the artists of Jordan and the Arab World. Funded by the Arab Banks ' Abdul Hameed Shoman Cultural Foundation, the Darat is one of the Arab wold's most prestigious cultural institutions.

For the Foundation's 10th anniversary of supporting art, SYNTAX Design+Interactive has been commissioned to create an "infowall" and a video slideshow that documents 10 years of art and cultural activities.

The result of the effort was two 1.5x4.5 meter infowalls and an hour-long slide presentation running on a large TV screen. The presentation brings together a huge amount of text, images and photographs, representing the Darat's legacy of supporting art and artists in addition to cultural events.

The presentation will be on display in the Darat's main hall until the end of February 1999.

In 1997, SYNTAX Design+Interactive developed the Darat's web presence . The site is one of the few comprehensive destinations for Arab art on the net, especially that it contains information on over 70 artists with examples of their work.
