SYNTAX Design+Interactive launched as region's first specialized interactive agency

September 28, AMMAN

SYNTAX Design+Interactive
, an independent Amman-based strategic design and interactive media development agency has today announced the launch of its integrated interactive media services and its new web site (http://www.syntaxdesign.com).

The past few months have seen an increase in demand for Internet related products and services in the Middle Eastern. Saudi Arabia, the Middle East's largest consumer market, is expected to finally becoming officially 'wired' next December, while consumers, companies and governments in other countries of the region have all caught the Internet fever, reflected in the growth of numbers of on-line users, service providers and even cyber-cafes.

Recognizing the need for more specialized services, SYNTAX D+I was one of the first companies in the region to offer corporate and institutional customers an integrated approach for the creation of interactive solutions that include web site development, digital/multi-media, as well as traditional design and marketing communication services.

The SYNTAX team has worked together on various design and media projects since 1995, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds that include design, publishing, architecture, technology and banking. The team was behind the implementation of a number of pioneering Internet projects for leading corporations, media companies and governmental institutions.

The company's Director and Co-Founder Ahmad Humeid has been involved in design, publishing and information technology for over 8 years. He has been a member of editorial and design teams of leading regional publications such as BYTE Middle East and Popular Science Middle East. As Creative Director of Arabian Media Concepts and founding member of the region's first internet online service, Arabia.On.Line, he and his core team have been managing interactive and strategic design projects for the Arab Bank, Dubai Shopping Festival, Dallah al Barakah, Arab Radio and Television, IBM Egypt, Apple Computer, Thuraya Telecommunications and others.

Since it's launch as an independent agency last July, SYNTAX D+I has focused its energies on consolidating its offerings into a comprehensive package that covers the strategic, creative design and technical services that organizations need in the digital age. The company also has alliances with providers of services that complement its core competencies. This enables SYNTAX D+I to connect its edge in strategic design, information structuring and visual implementation with sophisticated technical solutions such as database integration, e-commerce and custom Internet and multimedia application development.

Commenting on the launch of these new services, Humeid stressed that the market is ripe for such a development. "The Middle East internet services market has definitely gotten hotter this summer and lot of money is being invested in web sites and multimedia projects all over the Middle East. Sadly, most of the resulting work either lacks a strategic plan that sets the right goals and priorities, or is of inferior visual and technical quality," Humeid said. "This is where we can really make a difference, namely by utilizing our clients' resources in a more structured and appealing manner", he added.

Qais Saleh, the company's Business Director and Analyst believes that corporations are realizing that being networked has become a business necessity these days. "Even usually conservative institutions like banks, are now considering to take the next step into cyberspace by offering more than just a brochure-ware web sites to their customers. E-commerce, on-line banking and interactive information services have all become the new buzzwords in corporate circles." He said. "Our approach and expertise can be of tremendous value to any organization that is contemplating it next digital move," he added
